‘Saturday Night Live’: Brie Larson hosting May 7 show

Tonight, “Saturday Night Live” capped off a three-week run of new episodes with a show hosted by former cast member and “Seinfeld” star Julia Louis-Dreyfus. So, where do we go from here? The biggest thing that we need to do is wait. There is, after all, no new episode of the show until May.

So who will be the next host of the show? It’s none other than Brie Larson, who is coming off of a huge movie earlier this year in “Room” and is poised to become one of the next big box-office stars over the next few years. We’re not sure how she will fare as a host of this show, but we do like the choice given that she is someone super-current and someone who should be enthusiastic about the job.

As for the musical guest this time around, we’re talking about none other than Alicia Keys! At the moment, the “If I Ain’t Got You” singer seems to be a perfect gig from the standpoint of synergy, given that she is about to become a coach on “The Voice” next season; the show has already had on the other new host recently in Miley Cyrus, so this was an opportunity to try to bring someone else into the mix.

We do anticipate there being at least one more episode after this one, and maybe two. Who knows what is going to come up the rest of the season, but we do hope that it will be some sort of alumni appearance to help close things off.
